Edgar De La Rosa was named Head Coach of the Varsity Boys’ Basketball team in 2020. Previously, he worked as an assistant coach for eight years with the team with both Bill McNally and Ben Kettering. Edgar served as an assistant basketball coach on the high school and university level for more than 30 years, including at Bishop Ford High School, New York University, Fordham, Stony Brook, and Manhattan College, and as Director of Basketball Operations at Rutgers University. He was Head Coach of the New York City team in the Empire State Games from 1995 to 1999. He also served as assistant coach of the Dominican Republic National Team in 1994, 2003, 2007, and 2008, and helped select the 12-member team for the Central American Games, Pan American Games, and the Caribbean Games. Edgar played on the Dominican National Team between 1980 and 1987.
De La Rosa earned a BS in Management at St. Francis College, where he also played basketball and was named to the St. Francis College Hall of Fame.
